What is Human Resourse Management?

Human resource management (HRM) is the process of employing people, training them, compensating them, developing policies relating to them, and developing strategies to retain them. The term used to describe the management and development of employees in an organization. It is the process of hiring and developing employees so that they become more valuable to the organization. It includes conducting job analyses, planning personnel needs, recruiting the right people for the job, orienting and training, managing wages and salaries, providing benefits and incentives, evaluating performance, resolving disputes, and communicating with all employees at all levels. Core qualities of HR management, formerly called personnel management are extensive knowledge of the industry, leadership, and effective negotiation skills. The responsibilities of a human resource manager fall into three major areas: staffing, employee compensation and benefits, and defining/designing work. Essentially, the purpose of HRM is to maximize the productivity of an organization by optimizing the effectiveness of its employees.

Human resource management is focused on a number of major areas, including:

Recruiting and staffing

Compensation and benefits

Training and learning

Labor and employee relations

Organization development

What is HRM software?

Almost all areas of HRM have sophisticated software that automates varying degrees of many HR processes. For example, job candidate recruiting has seen enormous growth in the number of software platforms and systems that help both employers and job seekers to electronically match organizations and candidates with each other and then help manage the interviewing and hiring processes.

It is designed to help employees and management perform at their full potential and is implemented by businesses of all sizes to boost productivity and overall employee satisfaction.

Effective human resources software will integrate recruiting, onboarding, workforce management, time scheduling and management, payroll solutions and strategic human capital management.

Human resources software is sometimes called human resource management systems (HRMS), human capital management (HCM) and Human resources information systems (HRIS). Though each term sounds different, they all refer to the system a company uses to effectively manage employees.
